Conquistador is the story of a son of French immigrants arrived in Montreal in the late fifties. In this story, the protagonist tells all: the heartbreaking moment he left Europe with his family, his fear of uprooting its establishment on Maple Street and in Pointe-aux-Trembles, its difficult integration, fear of the unknown, his effort to take his place and blend in, the clash of cultures. Conquistador is also a sensitive child who will quickly become a bully who did not leave that place and not be at its head. As an adult before age, he worked in the factory, talks with the wrong crowd in strip clubs, rub shoulders with people from the underworld, live the experience of violence and heartbreak. Conquistador is the harsh reality of a person struggling with life and survival.
