Anna Louisa Walker

"Born in England, Anna Louisa Walker (1836-1907) came to Lower Canada as a child with her family. In 1858, after settling in Sarnia, Ontario, "Annie" and her two sisters opened a private school for young ladies which closed a few years later when Frances and Isabella died. She then joined the Paris household of her second cousin, the well-known Victorian writer, Margaret Oliphant, as a companion-housekeeper.
