Algernon Gissing

Algernon Fred Gissing, born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England, was an English novelist and the younger brother of novelist George Gissing. His initial education was at Back Lane School in Wakefield, but beginning in 1870 he attended Lindow Grove School in Cheshire as a boarder.
