S. Fowler Wright

Sydney Fowler Wright was born in the Kings Norton district of Birmingham. He attended school until age eleven, at which point he worked full time. He spent his spare time studying literature, and in 1917 he helped found the Empire Poetry League and edited its journal, *Poetry*.
