**Jack P. Greene** (1931-) Jack was born in 1931 in Lafayette, Indiana, and received his PhD from Duke University in 1956. He was at the University of Michigan in 1965 and joined the Department of History in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences in 1966. Greene spent most his career as Andrew W.
