James Lowry Donaldson

Born in Baltimore, MD to a father of the same name who fell at the Battle of North Point on September 12, 1814, he was graduated at the U. S. military academy in 1836, and became 2d lieutenant in the 3d artillery, serving in that capacity during the Florida war in 1836'8.
