My father was a Methodist Minister. I'm afraid Christianity wasn't for me, and I was reading eastern philosophy in my teens. I majored in Middle Eastern Studies and Philosophy at Melbourne University. Middle Eastern Studies was basically Biblical archaeology and religious analysis, and was affiliated with religious colleges. So I ended studying quite a bit about Christianity.
