Frank Hampson

Frank Hampson was a comic strip artist born near Manchester, UK. In 1949, he co-founded the children's magazine *The Eagle*, which was published by Hulton Press. Its most popular comic strip was Hampson's *Dan Dare, Pilot of the Future* series. In 1978, he graduated from the Open University. He died in July 1985, in Surrey, England.
