First "Special Student" to the Kodokan after WWII. British Judo Team Captain 1955-58. First British National Coach 1960-1974. Numerous books, articles on Judo. Two award winning films on the subject. Also advised on national coaching schemes in: USA, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Australia & New Zealand. He was posthumously awarded a Ninth Dan in February 1994.
